I’m so glad people breathe automatically bc if I had to remember to breathe every second I would’ve probably gotten too lazy to do it and died from it a long time ago
Ghandi once said ‘Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.’ But why? If the nature of my existence is insignificant why is it important for me to do all the things I do, if I were to simply cease existing, who would be sad? 1,2 maybe even 3 people, but they’d get over it, move on with their also insignificant lives. My life has no impact on the world whatsoever. So in reality if everything I do is insignificant then in fact it isn’t very important that I do it. There are almost 8 billion people in the world, why should I even think I matter among all these people?
I think the big mistake in schools is trying to teach children anything, and by using fear as the basic motivation. Fear of getting failing grades, fear of not staying with your class, etc. Interest can produce learning on a scale compared to fear as a nuclear explosion to a firecracker.
